• Artist – Album: John Wasson – Whiplash (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Whiplash is a breathtaking, nail-biting, almost panic-inducing movie… about just a music teacher and his student. My favorite of 2014 by far. If you were ever in band, watch it, and it’ll stick with you not just after the credits, but for years to come.

Caravan (originally by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington, and arranged by John Wasson) was the lynchpin of the whole movie; listening to the drum intro alone is awe-inspiring. When the upright bass kicks in, you know you’re in for something special. A soundtrack album I return to again and again.
