What’s The Difference Between Google Drive And Backup And Sync?

It took me a while to figure out what Google’s new app Backup and Sync was for.

Now that I know, I’m going to install it on my new hard drive and let you know the pros and cons when I’m done. Here’s the two biggest differences:

  • Combination of Google Drive and Google Photos backup apps.
  • Multiple folders and devices can now be backed up. Previously, everything had to go in one Google Drive folder. Now, there’s going to be a ‘Computers’ folder in Google Drive that will show the different backed up folders on different machines.

There are other options that replicate the functionality of the existing Google Drive and Google Photo apps. You can find more details in this c|net article.

By the way, here’s the link to download Backup and Sync if you don’t know where to go.
